starts with premier PEFC certified mature fine grain Western Red Cedar from the coastal regions of British Columbia.  Kiln Dry it to exact specifications.  Send it to an automatic chop line where Finger Joint blocks are produced and sorted for size , grade and grain orientation. Theses blocks are then machined for jointing, then joined and pressed. Following a short curing time, some boards are further allocated for edge gluing where they are pressed to make 36" wide panels. These panels are then sawn to specified widths. Solid Finger Joint boards are surface planed to a smooth S4S finish or perhaps a finished profile. Engineered Cedar offers a defect free product, that is longer and straighter in length.
